hi, nexties

The armchair speculators. The midnight researchers. The ones who read the whole file and still have questions. If that's you — you've always been one of us.

so, what exactly is a nextie?

A Nextie isn't just a listener. A Nextie is someone who finishes an episode and immediately opens a new tab. Someone who texts their friend about a case at 11PM. Someone who has opinions about evidence, about verdicts, about the systems that failed and the people who fell through the cracks.

You don't apply to be a Nextie. You don't earn it. You either are one, or you're not — and if you've made it to this page, you already know which one you are.

This community exists because true crime is better when you're not doing it alone. Nexties are the people who make this show worth making.

Which division are you?

the hound division

You're relentless. You follow every lead, pull every thread, and don't stop until you've run it to ground. Evidence is your language. Logic is your weapon. You want the facts, you want them sourced, and you want to know where they lead.

You're the reason cold cases get solved.

the feline bureau

You observe. You wait. You notice the thing everyone else walked past. Pattern recognition, instinct, the quiet gut feeling that something doesn't add up — that's your territory. You don't chase. You watch, and when the moment's right, you pounce.

You're the reason nothing gets missed.

Both divisions. One investigation. Pick your side — or don't. The case doesn't care either way.

stay in the loop

The investigation doesn't stop between episodes. Follow along on Instagram for case updates, research drops, behind-the-scenes moments, and the occasional theory worth entertaining.

how we do things here

The Nexties community is built on curiosity and respect. These cases involve real people — victims, families, witnesses, communities. We engage with that seriously.

Lead with evidence, not assumption. Speculation is welcome. Accusations without basis are not. There's a difference between a theory and a verdict — and we know it.

Respect the victims and their families. The people at the center of these cases are not content. They are human beings. We engage with their stories accordingly.

Disagree like an adult. Healthy debate is part of what makes this community sharp. Personal attacks, harassment, and bad-faith arguments are not.

Protect unverified information. If you have a tip or unverified information about a living person connected to a case, do not post it publicly. Contact us privately and we'll route it appropriately.

true crime tuesday

Every Tuesday, the Nexties come alive. TCT is our weekly community moment — discussion threads, listener theories, case check-ins, and the questions we're all still sitting with. It happens on Instagram and in the Patreon community feed.

Show up on Tuesdays. Bring your theories.
