you might be holding the next season
Every investigation begins with a lead. We prioritize cases that have been overlooked, cold cases that require fresh analysis, or stories where the current narrative fails to account for the evidence.
You're Next runs one case per season. That means every season we choose matters — and we don't choose lightly. We're looking for cases that deserve more than a headline. Cases with depth, with unanswered questions, with stakes that go beyond the crime itself.
If you know a case like that, tell us about it. We read every submission personally. We can't promise every suggestion becomes a season — but we can promise it gets a real look.
what we’re looking for
Depth Over Headlines
Cases with multiple layers — a flawed investigation, a disputed verdict, systemic failures, or unanswered questions that have never been fully examined. If it can sustain a full season of episodes, we want to hear about it.
01
A Paper Trail
Cases with available documentation — court records, news coverage, police reports, public filings. We can't build a Research Files collection on a case that has no verifiable public record.
02
Something Worth Verdicting
There has to be a question at the center. Was the right person convicted? Was the case ever solved? Did the system fail? If there's nothing to analyze, there's nothing to investigate.
03
Any Location, Any Era
We're not limited to recent cases or American ones. If the case has documentation and depth, geography and time period are not barriers.
